Consensus Inc. Founder and CEO Julie Gertler to be panelist at Green Leadership Conference at Pepperdine University

Consensus Inc. Founder and CEO Julie Gertler to share her views on consensus-building strategies in today's polarized world at Pepperdine University's "Taking It Upstream: Collaboration, Consensus Building and Sustainable Development—A Green Leadership (Un)Conference."

 

The event takes place on Sept. 25, 2009, marking the third anniversary of AB 32, the groundbreaking legislation on reducing greenhouse gases (GHG), and the first year anniversary of SB 375, which links land planning to GHG reducton.  The symposium will use highly participatory engagement techniques to explore the opportunities and constraints that lie ahead in managing current and potential land use disputes, and the development of sustainable communities.

 

Speaker and panelists include: Sen. Fran Pavley, Los Angeles City Planning Director Gail Goldberg and Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency CEO Cecilia V. Estolano, Trammell Crow Company Managing Director Brad Cox,

Julie will be part of the Conversation Panel 3.0: "Cutting Edge Collaborative Techniques" at 11:15 a.m., with moderator Pete Peterson, Executive Director, Common Sense California and Adjunct Professor, Pepperdine University School of Public Policy.
