Public Affairs Executive Appointed to Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board by California Governor

(Los Angeles, CA, December 12, 2011) — Consensus Inc. announced today that its executive, Maria Camacho was appointed to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) by California Governor Jerry Brown. Camacho who serves as a Director at Consensus Inc., a leading public relations and public affairs agency, will serve as a Board Member of the agency which exists to protect ground and surface water quality in the Los Angeles Region, including the coastal watersheds of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, along with very small portions of Kern and Santa Barbara Counties. Camacho is a resident of the City of Beverly Hills.

Since joining Consensus Inc. in 2008, Maria has led several large scale engagement programs for the firm’s clients in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Consensus Inc. Maria served as director of public affairs for J.S. Rosenfield and Company. Maria earned her Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University with a minor in Urban Studies, and she completed the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs in Los Angeles. She also earned her Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School, where she became a certified mediator at the Loyola Law School Center for Conflict Resolution. 

The Los Angeles Regional Board is one of nine Regional Boards statewide. These Boards are part of the California Environmental Protection Agency (CAL/EPA), along with the Air Resources Board, the Department of Pesticide Regulation, the Department of Toxic Substance Control, the California Integrated Waste Management Board, and the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.
