Public Involvement Programs for all planning phases of San Fernando Valley Orange Line

Consensus Inc. designed and managed three public participation programs for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s planning efforts of the San Fernando Valley East-West Transit Corridor MIS, EIS/SEIR, and Preliminary Engineering for the Orange Line – Bus Rapid Transit Project. The Board adopted a preferred route in July 2001 that would traverse via a Bus Rapid Transit system consisting of a busway and a bikeway within a 14-mile linear greenway that would follow the former Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way. Consensus Inc. is currently facilitating public outreach for the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the next phase of the line, the proposed northern extension of the Metro Orange Line to Chatsworth.
