Strategic Communications, Community Outreach and Support-Building for “Corporate Pointe at West Hills”

Trammell Crow Company was proposing to expand and redevelop Corporate Pointe at West Hills, an existing commercial development in the northeast San Fernando Valley area of the City of Los Angeles. Their proposed expansion called for adding 466,000 square-feet of new office space and was designed to attract high-wage jobs for employees seeking live/work employment in close proximity to attractive residential housing.   Further, the proposed upgrades to the campus, as well as the new buildings proposed, were all environmentally-friendly and sustainable, designed to meet the Gold LEED standard.

The existing development sits immediately adjacent to high-end single-family residential neighborhoods. Many of these neighbors had grave concerns about the size and scope of the new development. Additionally, because the campus was formerly owned and occupied by Hughes Missile Systems, Inc. whose work included research and development of electronics and missile defense systems, there were heightened concerns about environmental cleanup and remediation.
